Privacy Policy

Version 1.1 · Effective from 23 May 2025

1. Who are we?

DutchQ is an independent buying agency for property on the Costa del Sol, Spain. We support Dutch and Belgian buyers in finding, assessing and purchasing residential property in Andalusia.

Contact details of the data controller:
DutchQ
Email: info@dutchq.com
WhatsApp: +31 6 41 29 47 46
Website: dutchq.com

2. What personal data do we process?

Depending on how you use our website, we may process the following categories of personal data:

  • Contact form: name, email address, phone number (optional) and the content of your message.
  • Analytics data (with consent): anonymised usage data via Google Analytics 4, including page visits, country of origin, device type and browser. No IP addresses are stored.
  • Functional browser storage: your saved favourite properties (in localStorage). This is not personal data.
  • Cookie preference: your choice in the cookie banner (dq-cookie-consent). This is a technical setting, not personal data.

We do not process any special categories of personal data.

3. What do we use your data for?

  • Handling contact requests: name, email and message are used exclusively to answer your question or request.
  • Improving the website: analytics cookies (only after consent) give us insight into which pages are popular and how visitors navigate.
  • Functional preferences: favourites are stored in your browser so you can find them again on a later visit.

We never use your data for automated decision-making, profiling, or selling to third parties.

4. Legal basis for processing

  • Contact form: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and performance of a pre-contractual agreement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Google Analytics: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Analytics only loads after you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner.
  • Functional storage: legitimate interest, necessary for the website to function.

5. Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to keep anonymised statistics on how our website is used. The GA4 scripts only load and become active after explicit consent via the cookie banner.

IP anonymisation: GA4 does not store full IP addresses by default; the last octet is masked before storage.

Data location: Google processes data on servers within the European Economic Area (EEA). We have a Data Processing Agreement in place with Google.

You can prevent GA tracking by choosing "Only necessary" in the cookie settings, or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. Storage and security of contact data

Contact form submissions are stored in our secure database (Supabase, hosted in the EU, Frankfurt, Germany). The connection runs via TLS 1.2+. Only authorised DutchQ staff have access.

Your data is never shared with third parties for commercial purposes. Data may only be provided to competent authorities if legally required (e.g. a court order).

7. Retention periods

  • Contact requests: a maximum of 2 years after the last contact, unless a longer retention period is legally required.
  • Google Analytics data: a maximum of 14 months (as set in the GA4 console).
  • Browser storage (favourites, cookie choice): until you clear your browser storage or change the cookie settings.

8. Your GDPR rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to:

  • Access: request which data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure: the "right to be forgotten", where the retention period does not prevent this.
  • Restriction: temporarily halting processing.
  • Data portability: receiving your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection: to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Withdrawing consent: you can refuse analytics cookies at any time via the cookie settings.

Send your request to info@dutchq.com. We respond within 30 days. We may ask for identity verification for sensitive requests.

If you believe we are processing your data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Bezuidenhoutseweg 30, 2594 AV The Hague, Netherlands).

9. Cookies and tracking

See our full cookie policy for a complete overview of all cookies, their purpose and retention periods.

10. Changes to this policy

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy to comply with new legislation or changed processing practices. The most recent version is always available on this page with an updated version date.

11. Contact

For questions about this privacy policy or about the processing of your personal data, please contact info@dutchq.com or use our contact form.
